Washing & Conditioning

  • Always use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner to prevent drying or stripping.
  • Wash extensions in lukewarm water, gently massaging product through the hair in a downward motion.
  • Avoid piling or rubbing the hair, as this can cause tangling.
  • After rinsing, apply a moisturizing conditioner or hair mask. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes before rinsing.

 

Drying

  • For the longest lifespan, air-dry whenever possible. Pat gently with a microfiber towel and allow hair to dry naturally.
  • If using heat, always apply a heat protectant before blow-drying or styling.

 

Styling

  • Teased Hair Extensions can be straightened, curled, or styled with heat tools. Keep heat settings moderate to avoid damage.
  • For wavy or curly textures (like Taj Exotica or Seasick), we recommend applying a curl cream or light mousse and letting the hair air-dry to enhance natural definition.
  • Avoid heavy oils and products that cause buildup. Opt for lightweight serums for shine and frizz control.


 

Detangling

  • Use a wide-tooth comb or detangling brush.
  • Always detangle from tips to roots, working in small sections.
  • Detangle before washing to minimize shedding and knots.


 

Sleeping

  • Never sleep with wet hair. Make sure your extensions are fully dry before bed.
  • Braid or twist hair loosely and wrap with a silk or satin scarf/bonnet to prevent tangling overnight.
  • Use a silk pillowcase for added protection.

 

Swimming & Vacations

  • Chlorine and salt water can be harsh on extensions. Always braid hair or wear it in a bun before swimming.
  • Rinse immediately after swimming and apply a leave-in conditioner.
  • For exotic textures (like Hawaiian Wet or Seasick), let the natural pattern air-dry after rinsing for effortless vacation glamour.


 

Longevity

  • With proper care, Teased Hair Extensions can last up to 3 -5 years with proper care. 
  • Treat your extensions with the same care as your natural hair for the best results.
